Off-the-Shoulder & Boho Plus-Size Wedding Dresses (and the Corset Gown Worth Trying On)
Most plus-size bridal advice covers the same three things: A-line's, ballgown wedding dresses, and sleeves. They're good places to start, and we've written about all of them. But if the dress in your head has lace slipping off the shoulders or a softer, more relaxed boho feel, you've probably noticed how there are fewer curve-friendly versions to try on.
These are the styles our brides most often tell us they couldn't find anywhere else. Below are the off-the-shoulder and boho gowns on our rails at Confetti & Curves right now, plus one corset-style gown that deserves a fitting of its own. Several are in Our Ivory Outlet, so you can try a designer gown at an amazing price.
If you're right at the start of your search, our complete guide to plus-size wedding dresses in the UK covers bridal sizing and silhouettes first.
Off-the-shoulder plus-size wedding dresses
An off-the-shoulder neckline sits below the shoulder line and shows off the collarbones and décolletage. On a curvy figure it draws the eye upwards and across, which balances a fuller skirt and gives you a lovely line in photographs.
What to check before you fall for one
The straps on most off-the-shoulder gowns rest on the upper arm. They frame the neckline beautifully, but they aren't holding anything up. Structurally, the dress behaves like a strapless one, so all of the support has to come from inside the bodice. For a fuller bust, ask your stylist how the bodice is built and how much boning it has before you commit to the neckline.
Then check how you move. Straps across the upper arm can limit how high you can lift your arms, so in your appointment, raise them above your head, give someone a hug, and try a few steps of a first dance. You'll be doing all three between the ceremony and the end of the wedding breakfast.
A standard bra won't work with this neckline. A well-built bodice will often do the job on its own, and a seamstress can usually add cups or extra support if you'd like more. If you prefer arm coverage, our plus-size wedding dresses with sleeves edit has options with that same romantic feel.
The off-the-shoulder dresses
WSP026 by White Studio London. The sultrier option. This off-the-shoulder gown is cut for a curvy silhouette and finishes in a pooled train, so it suits a bride who wants her entrance noticed. Price on enquiry.

WSP027 by White Studio London. Floaty off-the-shoulder straps over lace, with a sweeping overskirt. We've already featured it in our plus-size ballgown edit, so head there for the full look.

Boho plus-size wedding dresses
Boho bridal usually means lace, softer lines, and a more relaxed feel. It's a natural fit for beach, garden, and outdoor weddings, and for brides who don't want to look too "done."
The worry we hear most from curvy brides is that boho means flimsy. It doesn't have to. A dress can look relaxed from the outside and still be built with real support underneath. When you try one, ask what's going on beneath the lace in the same way you would with an off-the-shoulder gown, because that's what decides whether you'll still feel held in as the last dance is called.
WSP006 by White Studio London. A lace bodice over a flowing chiffon skirt, with a side split and fine lace trim at the neckline and waist. The chiffon keeps it light and easy to move in, and the split adds a little edge without losing the softness that makes it boho. Now £475 in the outlet was £950.

WSP015 by White Studio London. Floral lace from bodice to train, with puffed off-the-shoulder sleeves. If you want boho and off-the-shoulder in one dress, this is the one to try if you love a little drama in your look. Was £1,100, but now it's in the outlet for
£450.00.

A plus-size corset wedding dress worth trying on
There's only one dress in this section, and it's a beauty.
First, a quick distinction. A corset-style bodice has boning built into it to shape and support you. A corset back is a lace-up fastening. You can have one without the other, and we explain how they compare in our corset back vs zip back guide.
Boning does most of the work in a bridal bodice. It gives you support and holds the weight of the gown, and it's also where that hourglass shape comes from. On a larger size, a well-made bodice will have more boning, scaled to the size, rather than the same amount stretched further. That's worth asking about with any structured dress you try.
WSP117 by White Studio London. A structured corset-style bodice with delicate lace over the bust and soft drop shoulders, opening into a sweeping A-line skirt. The mix of satin and beaded lace gives it texture and a subtle shimmer that catches the light without being showy. The bodice does the shaping, and the A-line skirt keeps it comfortable through the day, so it's a classic, romantic choice with a bit more structure than a boho gown.
If you've been searching for a corset wedding dress in a plus size, put this one on your list.

Trying these on at Confetti & Curves
Every appointment at Confetti & Curves is a two-hour private first look with your own stylist in a boutique built around curve-friendly samples. That time matters with these styles. You'll want to test how an off-the-shoulder neckline moves, see a boho dress properly fitted rather than pinned, and compare the corset bodice against something softer.
Tell us when you book which of these dresses you'd like to try, and we'll have them ready. Our Ivory Outlet changes regularly, so if you've got your heart set on an outlet gown, give us a ring first to check it's still here.
You can book your appointment online or call us on 01582 882100. You'll find us at The Olde Watermill Shopping Village, Barton Mill Lane, Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire, MK45 4RF.
A-lines,
Frequently asked questions
Can you wear a bra with an off-the-shoulder wedding dress?
Not a standard one, because the straps would show. An off-the-shoulder gown is supported by its bodice, much like a strapless dress, so a well-built bodice often means you won't need a bra at all. If you'd like extra support, a seamstress can usually add cups.
Are off-the-shoulder wedding dresses flattering on plus-size brides?
Yes. The neckline shows the collarbones and draws the eye upwards, which balances a fuller skirt. The things to check are the fit across the upper arm so you can move freely and the structure of the bodice, which needs to support a fuller bust on its own.
Are boho wedding dresses supportive enough for a fuller bust?
They can be. Boho describes the look, not the construction, so a lace boho gown can still have a structured, boned bodice inside. Ask your stylist how each dress is built and try it on fitted rather than pinned so you can judge the support properly.
What's the difference between a corset bodice and a corset back?
A corset bodice has boning sewn into it to shape and support you. A corset back is a lace-up fastening at the back of the dress. They're separate features: a dress can have a structured corset bodice with a zip or a lace-up back with a softer bodice.
Can I find off-the-shoulder or boho wedding dresses in the Confetti & Curves outlet?
Yes. Some of the gowns in this guide are in Our Ivory Outlet at reduced prices. The outlet selection changes regularly, so call 01582 882100 before your appointment to check that a particular dress is still available.
